BBC viewers left in tears as mother, 48, is told her stage 3 ovarian cancer may be inoperable

A 48-year-old mother left Hospital viewers in floods of tears after being told that her stage three cancer may be inoperable.   Natasha, from Coventry, was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer after suffering vague abdominal symptoms , and was devastated to discover the illness had spread to her surrounding organs.  Appearing on the BBC2 documentary last night, Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist of University Hospital Coventry, Smruta Shanbhag was seen discussing with Natasha whether or not she was eligible for the life-extending surgery.  After undergoing a laparoscopy to assess how far the cancer had spread, Dr Shanbhag was advised by colleagues not to go ahead with Natasha s vital operation.
