Nearly 25 per cent of Barrow s population have received the Covid-19 vaccine

NEARLY 25 per cent of Barrow s population have now received the Covid-19 vaccination. Barrow and Millom Primary Care Network has announced that nearly a quarter of the population have been vaccinated after a joint effort by nine GP practices. A spokesman said: We are all working with the same criteria. We are currently inviting patients in cohort four, on an age priority basis, based on vaccine delivery. We hope to finish vaccinating all people in this cohort within the next two weeks. Please do not call your practice; we will invite you either through a text message or a phone call (remember the NHS never asks for your bank details).

Morecambe Bay CCG staff proud to be part of largest vaccination programme in our history

To date, almost all patients above the age of 75 have now received their first vaccination. Countless volunteers have been involved with the huge effort, directing patients who attend the Covid-19 vaccine clinics and making sure icy car parks are safe for patients to walk on. Two of the vaccine hubs working relentlessly to battle the pandemic are Alfred Barrow Health Centre and Ulverston Community Health Centre. A spokesperson from Morecambe Bay CCG said: “We are really pleased with the progress of the vaccination programme in Morecambe Bay so far. Since we began vaccinating patients, we have managed to vaccinate nearly all of our patients that are over 75 and care home residents.
