Introduced by Sen. Jabo Waggoner, Senate Bill 126 would allow licensed businesses to deliver sealed beer, wine, and spirits from certain licensed retail establishments. Rep. Gil Isbell introduced a companion bill in the House. In order to receive a license, qualified businesses would have to file an application with the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and pay a non-refundable filing fee of $100 as well as a license fee of $1,000.

According to WBRC, the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board will be temporarily closing ABC stores across the state. These closures are due to the concerning number of COVID-19 cases in the state of Alabama. In total, there will be 41 ABC stores closing across the state. Two of those stores are in Tuscaloosa. ABC Board Administrator Mac Gipson says, Closing some of our stores will provide the greatest amount of employee/customer protection while ensuring maximum productivity and efficiency. Our primary concern is the health and well-being of our employees and patrons.”

Brough Brothers, Kentucky s First Black-Owned Distillery, Has Opened Its Doors

History was made late last year as Brough Brothers Distillery, the first and so far only Black-owned whiskey distillery in the state of Kentucky, produced its first bottles. The creation of Louisville natives and brothers Victor, Bryson, and Christian Yarbrough, the distillery was established in the city’s West End, a historically Black neighborhood that was also home to the first library in the U.S. available to Black citizens and where boxer Muhammad Ali grew up. Hudson Reporter Private funeral services have been held for Steven Maslo, 75, Ocean Township. He died Nov. 24 at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Steven was born August 8, 1945, to William and Eleanor Maslo and grew up in the Heights section of Jersey City. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in West New York, Rutgers University where he was a dean’s list student, and received his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School. Steven proudly served his country for six years in the 108th Combat Support Group of the New Jersey Air National Guard and was stationed in Alaska and overseas in Greece. Steven loved being a lawyer, and he enjoyed a long and distinguished legal career. He entered private practice in 1974 and maintained a law office in Hudson County for the next 46 years. For 26 years, Steven also served in various roles for the City of Jersey City, his hometown that he loved so much, including as an assistant corporation counsel, municipal prosecutor, counsel to the
