Wilson graduates from Walsh with honors
Jonathan K. Wilson graduated from Walsh University in December 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Education Degree.
He finished magna cum laude with an overall 3.8 GPA. He will continue his studies in January 2021 at Walsh University and pursue a masters degree in Healthcare Management.
Wilson is a 2017 graduate of United Local High School and the son of Sarah Wilson and grandson of Kim and Gaye Wilson, all of Hanoverton.
Area students on Clarion University dean’s list

Scholastic artists
In the year 2020 when nothing was certain, there was still one item art teachers were determined to assure would be able to showcase the talent and hard work of their students.
This year’s Scholastics Art and Writing Competition was able to be pulled off in more of the most unforgettable and forgettable years we have ever seen. Over 40 teachers from Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana, and Ashtabula counties entered over 300 works from students in drawing, painting, photography, digital art, and more to be judged at the regional level to see who would represent our area and compete at the national level this coming spring.

HOWLAND Deborah Lynn Brant, 68, of Howland, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020 at 9:40 a.m. in her home, under the comforting care of hospice.
Mrs. Brant was born on Tuesday, March 4, 1952, in Warren, the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary McGarry Noble and was a lifelong area resident.
A 1970 graduate of Howland High School, she furthered her education with a degree in nursing from Aultman College. Her career in nursing involved working as a nurse at the former Warren General Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, the Red Cross and eventually with Hospice of the Valley, from where she retired in 2017.
