Aultman Alliance opens drive-thru COVID testing, vaccination center ALLIANCE  Aultman Alliance Community Hospital has opened a drive-thru COVID testing and vaccination center at 1750 S. Union Ave.  Jessica Bloss, director of public relations at the hospital, said patients remain in their vehicles as they receive services.   We can do two cars at a time. The garage doors close, and people turn off their vehicles, and whether it s testing or vaccinating, they get it done right there in their car, she said. The hospital is administering vaccines based on the state s vaccination distribution plan. Patients who receive the vaccine are asked to move to a designated parking space and wait for 15 to 20 minutes for observation afterward.

(Submitted photo) ALLIANCE – The newest location of Aultman Home Medical Supply will open Monday inside the Professional Office Building on the campus of Aultman Alliance Community Hospital at 270 E. State St., Suite 130. The Alliance store is the fifth location in the region for Aultman Home Medical Supply and the first situated in eastern Stark County. It will offer respiratory products such as aerosol nebulizers, CPAP and BIPAP machines and portable oxygen systems. Additional products will include walkers, wheelchairs, breast pumps, hospital beds and more. Store hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Mount Union volunteers make appreciation bags for health care workers

ALLIANCE  Volunteers at the University of Mount Union are making cards and sets of coasters for health care workers in Alliance this month to thank them for their work during the pandemic.  Abby Schroeder, director of the Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement at Mount Union, said students, faculty and staff participating in the service project will fill roughly 1,200 appreciation bags by the end of the month.  We offer two service projects a month, she said. As you can imagine, this year those projects look a little bit different. We had to be pretty creative and offer more things on campus.

Alliance Police database for Jan. 27 The Alliance Review BRIAN ALEXANDER CHERNIKOVICH, 28, 820 Milner St. in Alliance, was arrested at 4:40 p.m. Jan. 21, 2021, on Milner Street. Police located Chernikovich while he was operating a vehicle on Milner. Police say the defendant was wanted on warrants out of Alliance Municipal Court. He also has four open suspensions of his operator’s license. Warrants were served for obstructing official business, a second-degree felony; complicity to theft and complicity to breaking and entering, both fifth-degree felonies; and the defendant also was charged with driving under suspension. Chernikovich was released on a recognizance bond, per Alliance Municipal Court’s COVID-19 protocol.
