THREE Limerick-based charities have each received a €500 donation through Aldi’s Community Grants programme.
Cheques have been presented to the Butterfly Club, Limerick Animal Welfare and ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services.
Aldi’s Community Grants programme helps fund local charities and organisations that contribute vital work and services in their local communities.
Each of the beneficiaries are chosen by Aldi employees, enabling them to help the local good causes they are passionate about.
Green light for new Aldi store in Ballina
Aldi Stores (Ireland) Ltd has secured the green light to develop a supermarket in Ballina.
Conditional planning permission for the development has been secured from Mayo County Council.
Colin Breslin, Regional Managing Director, Aldi Ireland, told Midwest News today that they will be bringing 30 new permanent jobs to Ballina and they expect to open the new facility in 2022. The new store will also create 50 jobs during the construction phase.
The store will be constructed in Aldi’s award-winning Project Fresh design and feature 80 car parking spaces, EV-charging stations and a bicycle stand unit.
