Edmonton-based police have raided a home and seized drugs in Whitecourt.
The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s (ALERT) Edmonton organized crime team carried out a search warrant on the home on Dec. 10. Inside were eight people, small amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl and signs of drug trafficking, an ALERT news release issued Thursday said.

“This was an otherwise safe and quiet neighbourhood, and the negative impacts associated to drug activity shake the community’s sense of safety,” said Sgt. Ted Zadderey of the Whitecourt RCMP, in the release.
