Councillor Verna Murphy is running for mayor of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. She is the first person to confirm a run for the seat.
In a Thursday interview, Murphy did not make any direct criticisms of Mayor Don Scott’s leadership or anyone else on council, but said she feels people want change.
