Canada s largest solar power operations may be coming to Calgary
Kyle Brittain
mercredi, 29 janvier 2020 à 10:15 - Large-scale solar power generation is set to come to Calgary.
DP Energy, a renewable energy company based out of Ireland, has set its sights on industrial southeast Calgary for the development of two solar farms.
The areas being considered were used for fertilizer production in the past and have little potential for future land development.
The land area is also flat, so the company sees these as prime locations for the installation of solar farms.
Calgary is famously sunny and that also makes the city a prime location for solar development. The sites combined would become one of the largest solar plants in Canada, generating over 60 MW, which is enough to power 14,000 homes.
