That said, I’m kind of digging the Alpha Motor Corporation’s Wolf pickup truck. Which is definitely still a concept and for which Alpha is actually taking pre-orders. It s been less than a month since Alpha Motor Corporation debuted its Jax electric CUV. Now, the California-based company is tossing its hat into the EV pickup truck battle. Say hello to Wolf, a compact pickup that in many ways could be the most traditional offering among the current crop of coming-soon electric trucks. And with an estimated starting price under $40,000, it could also be the most affordable.
Here s what you need to know. At a little over 15 feet long, the Wolf is considerably smaller than the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier and compares with the previous-generation Ford Ranger. It definitely qualifies as a compact pickup, but with intended lithium-ion battery power in the 75 to 85 Kilowatt-hour ballpark, the Wolf can scoot to 60 mph in an estimated 6.2 seconds. Alpha Motor Corporation, an EV start-up based in California, has revealed its Wolf electric pickup truck. This is the company’s third EV, the Ace Coupe and Jax CUV have already been unveiled.
Unlike some of the upcoming electric trucks (GMC Hummer EV and Rivian R1T), this one won’t empty your bank account. The Alpha Wolf electric truck starts at $36,000, and that’s without any tax incentives. Although, this old-school looking electric truck is made for those who don’t need more than two seats and enjoy venturing off the beaten path.
