ALPINE COUNTY, Calif. - The Alpine County Sheriff s Office has announced they located the body of 17-year-old Haydn Miguel of Minden, Nevada. On July 3, 2021, deputies were dispatched to a reported missing camper in the area of Lost Lake, located in the Eldorado National Forest. Sheriff s deputies along with Search and Rescue (SAR) Volunteers responded and searched the immediate area for Haydn. They continued their search on July 4 with search teams from around Northern California who responded to Alpine County s request for mutual aid. The 40 searchers didn t find him on July 4 and continued again on July 5. It was then that Alpine County deputies and their SAR K9 deployed into the West Carson River drainage on the east side of Lost Lakes. Two hours into their search on Monday the SAR K9 located Haydn 300 feet below the edge of a steep cliff.
