Spirit Of The Beehive. Photo by Peggy Fioretti. In a way, we can thank an â80s hair metal biopic for partially inspiring Spirit Of The Beehiveâs
Entertainment, Death, the Philly experimental collage-rock bandâs fourth and best album. Over Zoom, Spiritâs Zack Schwartz recalls a scene in
The Dirt where Motley Crueâs manager gets a tattoo of the phrase âEntertainment or Death.â âI just thought it was a cool title,â Schwartz says, shrugging across a laggy Zoom call from his apartment in Philly â Corey Wichlin, a multi-hyphenate and recent addition to Spirit, sits next to Schwartz, with founding member and bassist Rivka Ravede joining the conversation remotely from her job at a vinyl plant.
The Philadelphia rock band Spirit of the Beehive are back with another new song from
Entertainment, Death, which is out April 9 via Saddle Creek. Below, watch the music video from the bandâs Zachary Schwartz below.
âThe Server Is Immersedâ follows the previously shared âThereâs Nothing You Canât Do.â The self-recorded and produced album arrives on a new label home for the trio of Schwartz, Rivka Ravede, and Corey Wichlin.
Last year saw the release of Schwartzâs debut solo album
Hypnic Jerks was released in 2018.
