Man Suspected of Assaulting Officer Taken Into Custody After Pursuit

By City News Service Jul 15, 2021 COMMERCE (CNS) - A man suspected of assaulting a California Highway Patrol officer was taken into custody in Commerce today after leading police on an approximately half-hour pursuit that began in Artesia. Police began pursing the man driving a white sedan at about 5:25 p.m. in the area of Pioneer Boulevard and Ashworth Street in Artesia after he allegedly tried to ram his car into a CHP officer, CBS2 reported. The man led police on streets through the Vernon and Boyle Heights areas, clipping a red truck and a blue sedan before turning eastbound onto Ferguson Drive.

E Lancs children s play centre boss blasted by judge for drink-driving

Blackburn magistrates heard when he stopped children s play centre owner Mohammed Sadiq failed a breath test. Sadiq, 28, of Ashworth Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was made subject to a community order for 18 months with 70 hours unpaid work and a 28-day curfew between 7pm and 7am. He was banned for three years and ordered to pay £350 costs and £90 victim surcharge. The court was told Sadiq was the owner of a play centre which was due to reopen in the near future after Covid restrictions had forced its closure and Deputy District Judge Tony Watkin said because of his position Sadiq should know better.

Bryce O Donnell charged after allegedly driving erratically down Bourke Street Mall

Bryce O Donnell, 20, was arrested by police in Ballarat yesterday afternoon after an extensive manhunt. Bryce O Donnell has been arrested and charged by police over the Bourke Street incident. (Victoria Police) He has been remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court today. (Victoria Police) He then allegedly fled the scene following the crash, with the car later found dumped on Ashworth Street in Albert Park without a number plate. Mr O Donnell was interviewed by detectives and charged with a number of offences, including reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, failing to stop on police request, reckless exposure of a police officer to risk by driving, contravening a conduct condition of bail, committing an indictable offence while on bail, driving in a manner dangerous, driving while disqualified, careless driving, dangerous driving while being pursued by police and driving a vehicle causing loss of traction.
