Austin 360 Guitarist Denny Freeman, an anchor of Austin s blues music community for five decades, has died after a recent cancer diagnosis, several of his close friends confirmed via social media (including songwriter Bill Carter). Executive director Mark Monahan says in a statement that organizers tried to find a way to host the event in July, but after running out of time, they’re setting their sights on next summer. Monahan says rock band Rage Against the Machine is set to headline the 2022 Bluesfest, and hip hop duo Run the Jewels are also booked to perform.
