Road improvements likely to end iconic South Taranaki car race

The 1.4km track that snakes up a hill on Ngawini Road, 12kms inland from Hāwera, is to be smoothed and realigned by contractors for the South Taranaki District Council after the race on February 20. “We are disappointed. It will be great for residents up there, they’ll love it, but it will be no good as a race track,” he said.
