Future upgrades detailed for North, Jaycee parks in Kirksville Kirksville Daily Express Master plans for the North Park and Jaycee Park complexes have been updated by the Parks and Recreation Department, showing what the future holds for those areas. A sizable expansion at North Park now has a bit of a blueprint in place.  Five soccer fields have been proposed for North Park along the northern and eastern undeveloped areas of the park. Additional parking lots will be constructed in those areas, along with a concession and restroom building.  Parks and Recreation Director Rodney Sadler said city staff members have met with the Northern Missouri Futbol Club about developing those soccer fields. Sen Roy Blunt urges Missourians to get vaccinated, talks broadband and infrastructure

Sen. Roy Blunt urges Missourians to get vaccinated, talks broadband and infrastructure Kirksville Daily Express During a visit to Macon on Wednesday, Missouri Senator Roy Blunt participated in a lengthy discussion that ranged from COVID-19 to rural broadband.  Here are some of the things he said regarding those topics and several others. COVID-19 and vaccines Blunt said it was “amazing” how quickly vaccines were created to combat the COVID-19 virus last year. In Missouri, roughly 39 percent of residents are fully vaccinated and about 44 percent have initiated the process. Missouri is ranked 37th in the country in vaccination rate. That data is compared to a June surge in the state, where Missouri was third in virus spread.
