VIGâs Q1 21 pre-tax profit in Croatia rises 14.5% y/y HQ
ZAGREB (Croatia), May 19 (SeeNews) – Austria s Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said on Wednesday its pre-tax profit from operations in Croatia increased 14.5% year-on-year to 2.9 million euro ($3.5 million) in the first quarter of 2021.
Total gross written premiums of VIG s Croatian unit, Wiener Osiguranje, grew by an annual 4.2% to 48.1 million euro in January-March, VIG said in a quarterly financial report.
Premiums in the motor third party liability sub-segment rose 24.5% to 4.2 million euro in the period under review.
VIG s premiums from regular life insurance on the Croatian market dropped 3.2% on the year to 6.5 million euro in the first three months of 2021, while premiums from single life insurance decreased by 15.2% to 17.5 million euro.

SKOPJE (North Macedonia), May 7 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia s Osiguruvanje Makedonija - Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said that its net profit fell to 12.2 million denars ($238,400/196,700 euro) in the first quarter of 2021 from 18.3 million denars in the same period of 2020.
Osiguruvanje Makedonija s revenue fell 7% year-on-year to 190.6 million denars in the January-March period, the company said in an interim financial statement filed with the Skopje bourse last week.
The insurer booked net earned premiums of 126.5 million denars in the review period, less than 150.9 million denars recorded in the same period last year.
