World Leaders Condemn Assault On Democracy At US Capitol

World leaders and governments have expressed shock and outrage at the storming of the US Capitol in Washington by supporters of President Donald Trump.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Thursday she was furious and saddened by the events and said Trump shared blame for the unrest. I deeply regret that President Trump has not conceded his defeat, since November and again yesterday, she said.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday denounced his erstwhile ally Trump. In so far as he encouraged people to storm the Capitol and in so far as the president consistently has cast doubt on the outcome of a free and fair election, I believe that was completely wrong, Johnson told reporters.
