OREANDA-NEWS. The head of the Austrian Ministry of Health, Rudolf Anschober, speaking about the possible registration of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in the EU, said that he would be happy with any vaccine that successfully passed the examination of the European Medical Agency (EMA), and the place of production of the drug does not matter.
Earlier, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said that the EMA will need to consider applications for registration in the EU of Russian and Chinese vaccines against coronavirus, and there should be no geopolitical taboos in this matter.
Holocaust survivors in Austria and Slovakia received the coronavirus vaccine on the Holocaust Day of Remembrance. This day is to commemorate the people who died in genocide as it was this day that the Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated 76 years ago.
According to the report, nearly 400 people aged 85 and older, many of them Holocaust survivors, were vaccinated in Vienna on Wednesday. Jan. 27 (UPI) Millions around the world on Wednesday honored the many Jewish victims who were systematically killed during World War II.
Numerous world leaders joined survivors, members of the Jewish community and supporters in recognizing International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The day marks the anniversary when Auschwitz-Birkenau the largest Nazi concentration and death camp was liberated by the Soviet Red Army during World War II. More than a million Jews died at the camp.
