CNA file photo Taipei, May 17 (CNA) The representative offices of several western countries in Taiwan on Monday voiced support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community as the world marks International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT). In a Facebook post, the European Economic and Trade Office in Taiwan (EETO) lauded Taiwan as being at the forefront of promoting LGBTI rights, adding that there is no room for complacency in the pursuit of universal human rights. It pointed out that the LGBTI community still faces specific challenges at a time of global pandemic, such as domestic violence, hate speech online and offline, and hate crimes.
