The Australian International Documentary Conference has partnered with Northern Pictures and the ABC for an Indigenous Documentary Placement.
The initiative will provide one mid-career Indigenous practitioner with an opportunity to undertake an extended placement to further develop their skills in documentary, factual development and production within the context of both a public broadcaster and a production company.
Michael Carrington, ABC Director Entertainment & Specialist said: “The Indigenous Documentary Placement initiative, with Northern Pictures and AIDC, will help give a voice to the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander storytellers, by developing their skills within the ABC’s award-winning Factual & Culture team. The museum is more mind-blowing than ever.
Introducing a media preservation lab and exciting exhibitions, some perks of ACMI’s new look include contemporary cafes and bars, revitalised shops, as well as a staircase connecting the building and its new relaxation spaces.
ACMI celebrates its reopening with an Open Weekend – debuting their newest centrepiece exhibition, a world-first piece of technology set to reinvent the museum-going experience, and a lineup of free activities, talks and performances.
The annual Screen Forever conference is shifting online next month, following recent challenges around COVID-19 and border restrictions.
Originally set for November 2020 on the Gold Coast, it then rescheduled for February but Screen Producers Australia yesterday announced an entirely digital offering from 16-18 February.
