The Australian Academy of Science has launched a public campaign, backed by the Australian Department of Health, to demystify the risks of vaccines. The message from Australian Academy of Science member, Nobel Prize recipient and Burnet Institute Board Member, Laureate Professor Peter Doherty, who has helped lead Australia’s fight against COVID-19, is clear: “Go and get the vaccine. There’s nothing to be afraid of.”
