Kerry Saxby-Junna returned to her old home of Ballina on Friday for the unveiling of a new tribute and tourist attraction in her honour.
An enthusiastic crowd of friends, family and supporters were there for the unveiling by Mayor David Wright of the new interpretive signage display, beside the Richmond River, near the Ballina War Memorial Pool.
The new aluminium display is over two metres high and details Ms Saxby-Junna’s extraordinary athletic achievements, which include 32 world records, three Olympics and 27 national titles.

Council will also host a private Citizenship Ceremony on the day to welcome 19 new citizens into the Liverpool community.
About James Chapman
Elite rower James Chapman was part of the senior Australian Rowing Team for more than 15 years, representing Australia at 15 World Rowing Cups, seven World Rowing Championships and the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympic Games.
Born in New South Wales, Chapman started his career rowing out of Sydney Rowing Club, UTS Rowing Club and Mosman Rowing Club with the support of the New South Wales Institute of Sport and the Australian Institute of Sport.
Chapman was first selected to compete for his country in the men’s VIII who took the silver medal at the under 23 World Championships in Copenhagen in 2000.

Who are heroes of the faith? I can name two. There are oodles of people such as these two who might be referred to as such. In my life time these are two of them.
My wife Delma and I initiated our faith financed sports ministry in 1982 in association with Heads of Churches, and like many other Missions, we raised our own funding for our living needs and ministry expenses.
In an interview on the Australian Missionary News IPTV, Delma Tronson said that when we moved from a secure income into faith financed mission, she laid her heart out before God, saying this was in His domain and trusted the Lord to provide .
