The US military has fired one of its most advanced missiles on Australian soil for the first time during military exercises.
Two MIM-105 Patriot missiles were launched in Central Queensland as part of Exercise Talisman Sabre â the wargames involving Australia, the US and other nations.
The missiles are capable of speeds up to Mach 4, or 5,000km per hour, and took just seconds to hit two drones during the military drills.
