Flights between Western Australia and New Zealand have been paused once again, after another Covid-19 outbreak linked to a Perth quarantine hotel.

A hotel security guard has tested positive, and had been out in Perth s inner-northern suburbs for several days while potentially infectious.
Two people he lives with have since contracted the virus.
Late last night, New Zealand s Health Ministry ordered all direct flights from Western Australia to be immediately paused, and will await further advice from Australian officials.
Ministry officials have conducted a rapid public health assessment for New Zealand , a statement said, and concluded that flights should be temporarily paused .
A Perth hotel quarantine security guard and two of his housemates have tested positive to COVID-19.
The man, who is in his 20s, has had his first vaccine and had previously tested negative to the virus, West Australian Premier Mark McGowan said at a snap press conference this afternoon.
Mr McGowan said the man worked at the Pan Pacific Hotel on April 24 to 26.

The man underwent mandatory testing as part of his role, and his positive COVID-19 result was detected this morning. He attended a number of locations while potentially infectious. On his first day off, Tuesday, 27 April, is the day our health authorities expect he may have become infectious in the community, Mr McGowan said.

A hotel quarantine security guard tested positive for the virus in Perth, and officials say he could have been infectious in the community for four days. Two of his seven housemates have also tested positive.
Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan said the man, who has had his first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine, worked on the same floor as two other positive cases staying in hotel quarantine.
