again in week three to book a rematch with the Broncos in the grand final.
Minor premiers Brisbane went into the match as hot favourites, with the kind of star-studded line-up that would be hard to imagine during the salary cap era (the cap would be reintroduced for the merged National Rugby League competition in 1999).
Brisbane's backline featured present or future representative stars Darren Lockyer, Allan Langer, Kevin Walters, Wendell Sailor, Steve Renouf, Anthony Mundine, and Michael Hancock off the bench. The starting pack included Shane Webcke, Gordon Tallis, Brad Thorn, Andrew Gee and Darren Smith.
The Sharks side wasn't too shabby either, led by Australian internationals Andrew Ettingshausen, Mat Rogers and Jason Stevens, Kiwis forward Tawera Nikau and star fullback David Peachey. And while the Broncos boasted much of the Maroons Origin side there was a similar flavour to the Sharks outfit as well, with five Queenslanders in the side.

After landing, settlers wanted to relocate in the hope of finding a more suitable area to construct their colony. They travelled to Sydney Cove on 25 January and the next morning, on the 26th, Sir Arthur Phillip and a small entourage of marines and officers claimed the land in the name of King George III.

NEW DELHI: India's comeback win in Melbourne to level the ongoing four-match Test series in Australia has sent out a huge message to not just the Australian camp but to opposition teams the world over -that this team doesn't rely on star power and that it has enough quality strength on the bench to win.
The eight-wicket win in the second Test of the series in Melbourne becomes more special when you look at what happened to the visitors coming into this match.
The first Test, which was a day-night encounter saw both teams having the upper hand at different stages of the match. But it ended with what was a morale crushing performance by the Indian team. They were bowled out for their lowest Test innings total of 36 in their second innings and as a result lost the match by eight wickets inside three days.
