On Sunday, a 25-year-old Timorese man died when he lost control of a car and crashed on a farm in Tasmania, where he was employed at the time. Police say alcohol and drugs was not involved, but the young worker was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. The tragedy has sent ripples of grief through the seasonal worker community. Pacific seasonal worker expert, Dr Rochelle Bailey, said accidents like this one occurred too often. I ve dealt with employers who have lost workers. And it s really hard. I mean, some of them have gone to counselling, because they have to go through a lot, Dr Bailey said.

News 12th Jan 2021 11:26 AM An Australian surfer and father-of-two has been found dead on a popular beach in Bali. 50-year-old Taras Mulik was found lying face down under some stairs by a local fisherman at Suluban Beach, South Kuta on Sunday morning, local authorities said. Mr Mulik, who was living in Bali after relocating from Perth, was allegedly found bleeding from the mouth however his cause of death is not yet known. A spokesman from Denpasar Police, I Ketut Sukadi, confirmed the discovery of Mr Mulik s body.

Temporary learning facilities that were donated by UNICEF Pacific along with some supplies from Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade have been delivered to Bua District School by helicopters.
