Memot gold mine environmental impact study underway

Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) Ltd, a subsidiary of Australia-listed Emerald Resources NL, is conducting an Initial Environmental Impact Assessment (IEIA) for a new gold-mine project in Tbong Khmum province’s Memot district.
Located 95km southeast of Renaissance’s existing Okvau Gold Project in Mondulkiri province’s Keo Seima district, operations manager Bernie Cleary told The Post that the 107.10sq km mining concession in the Memot area is highly prospective for gold exploration.
“Our vision is to have a net positive impact on near-mine environmental and social values by targeting strict compliance with corporate governance, international guidelines and local law, and engage and collaborate with all stakeholders in the project area,” he said.

Renaissance: Gold extraction in Q2

Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) Ltd, a subsidiary of Australia-listed Emerald Resources NL, reported that its coffers are full enough to develop Okvau Gold Project in northeastern Mondulkiri province and reach first production in the second quarter of this year.
Located in the Okvau area of Keo Seima district in the province’s southwest, the project made significant progress that is consistent with its development timeline and budget, Renaissance said in its fourth quarterly report, which was received by The Post last week.

Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) Ltd, a subsidiary of Australia-listed Emerald Resources NL, says it has largely weathered the fallout from Covid-19 and is on track to begin extracting gold in the first half of next year.
Renaissance is in the process of developing a gold mine in the Okvau area in Mondulkiri province’s southwestern Keo Seima district.
Renaissance operations manager Bernie Cleary told The Post that the company is importing heavy earthmoving machinery and crushing, milling and gold-extraction equipment for its processing facility.
