Europeans showcase Australian green hydrogen project

The European Commission has singled out the South Australian green hydrogen export hub in its Hydrogen Valleys Initiative for its ambition to overcome technology barriers to the production, distribution, storage and use of hydrogen at a gigawatt scale.
The project was selected by the European Commission under the auspices of Mission Innovation (MI) following a global search of forty case studies from Australia, Austria, Chile, China, EU, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, the UK and the USA.

Under the first phase of the project – the demonstrator phase – H2U will develop a 75 megawatt electrolysis plant and an ammonia production facility, with an annual capacity of 40,000 tonnes.
