Hardline zero-Covid advocate WA Premier Mark McGowan launched a scathing attack on NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian after she flagged easing the city s lockdown at 50 per cent Covid vaccination

A fly-in fly-out worker has tested positive to Covid-19 in Perth after flying into the city s airport from a rural mine - as hundreds of travellers are ordered to self-isolate.
Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan said the worker tested positive to the virus after returning from the Fortescue Cloudbreak mine site in the state s north-west on July 27.
The worker returned a weak positive result and authorities are unsure when, or for how long, he was infectious in the community, but say it could be as long as 16 days.
His girlfriend was tested and has returned a negative result.
He is believed to have caught the virus at Perth Airport on July 20 from a traveller who flew to WA after completing hotel quarantine in Queensland.
Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan says a first person has used the state s newly activated assisted dying laws.
The first person has used Western Australia s new voluntary assisted dying laws to end their life in what Premier Mark McGowan says is a historic moment for the state.
The person has not been identified and the family is asking for privacy. We passed these laws so terminally ill Western Australians, who are suffering, could have the compassionate choice to end their lives with dignity, Mr McGowan said on Thursday.

Casino operator Crown Resorts on Monday (Jul 26) said Western Australia state had extended the time given to a Royal Commission probing operations at its Perth casino to March 2022.
The move comes after Victoria state last month said it would give additional time and funding to a separate Royal Commission that is probing Crown s operations in that state, to allow it to investigate a wider range of matters.
