A Papua New Guinean governor has criticised Australia s response to a plan to establish a Chinese fisheries park on PNG s border, saying Australia wants the status quo of poverty in the region to remain.

Foreign affairs minister offers Australia’s support to Fiji after Category 5 cyclone19/12/2020|1min
Australia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Marise Payne has offered Australia’s support to Fiji after the huge damage caused by Category 5 Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
The cyclone tore through the island, destroying hundreds of buildings and killing at least two people.
Emergency services are on standby and military aircraft will be deployed to assist with aerial surveillance.
Ms Payne released a statement which said Australia “stands with the Government and people of Fiji, as they respond to the devastating impacts of Tropical Cyclone Yasa”.
“The Australian Government will assist the Government of Fiji in whatever capacity we can.”
