WHEATFIELD TWP. – A Michigan State University police captain had a blood alcohol content of more than three times the legal limit for driving when she was arrested last month on Interstate 96 in the Williamston area, police reports indicate.
Capt. Valerie O Brien was extremely belligerent with a Michigan State Police trooper who arrested her after she had stopped on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes near Williamston Road on the night of Feb. 10, according to reports released under a public records request.
O Brien s breath smelled of alcohol, and she refused to take a breath test, telling the trooper, I am not doing anything without an attorney, the trooper said in his report.
