Michigan animal control officer injures hand pulling cat from car engine

INGHAM COUNTY, MI – A Michigan animal control officer is being celebrated for putting his own well-being at risk to save a cat in need.
According to the Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter, the bizarre rescue occurred when officer Kyle Hanney responded to a report that a cat had climbed into a car engine and couldn’t get out.
Upon arriving on scene and opening the hood of the vehicle, Hanney immediately noticed the small of singed fur. Fortunately, Hanney was able to reach into the car engine and retrieve the cat, however, his hand was injured in the process.
