Enugu: Hoodlums beat up chief priest, threaten to drown him

The Chief Priest of Omaba Adoro Ero, in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State, Ozoemena Eze, was allegedly beaten up by a 10-man gang of hoodlums over allegation of stealing.
Eze was accused of stealing a staff of authority from Ngwu Adoro Ero, which is another diety in the community about a year ago.
However, things took a dangerous dimension when the hoodlums who are suspected to be messengers of Ngwu Adoro Ero deity lured the suspect out of his home at about 9 pm on the pretence that they wanted him to perform an urgent sacrifice to his own Omaba Adoro deity to save a situation.

Hoodlums stab 98-yr-old to death in Enugu

A decomposing body of a 98-year-old woman identified as Oyibo Ogidi, was discovered Tuesday morning at her Amafor residence in Ovoko, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The childless woman, according to family sources, was last seen on Friday when she visited her ailing brother in the neighbourhood.
A son of the deceased’s brother, Victor Onyeke, who confirmed this development to Vanguard said the family got the news of her death through a community source who, having perceived an unpleasant odour from the deceased’s residence, went close and discovered her dead body.
The people of Ovoko Community, in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State have come hard on a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Patrick Asadu over the rumoured attack on former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu in the area.
There were reports, (not by DAILY POST) that Ekweremadu was chased away during the kick-off of the finals of a football tournament in the community.
Asadu, who is representing Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South in the Green Chamber, is from Ovoko Community.
In a press statement made available to DAILY POST, the community, under the aegis of Ovoko Football Association, knocked the Reps member for allegedly sending thugs to disrupt their event.
