Midfielder Ibrahim tests positive for COVID-19

National midfielder Mohammed Ibrahim tested for COVID-19, confirmed Bangladesh Football Federation on Wednesday.
The Bashundhara Kings midfielder has no symptoms and is currently in isolation at Hotel Intercontinental.
A total of 40 members of Bangladesh national football team, including 32 players and 8 officials, underwent COVID-19 tests on Sunday. But, the team started training on the field on Monday before getting the test reports.
While asked, national team manager Iqbal Hossain replied, “Players were all in the game. Kings players tested just a few days ago while they were supposed to fly to Maldives. However, we tested them on the first day when they reported to the camp, the test reports came late.”

Footballers of Bangladesh preliminary squad participated in practice despite the attack of coronavirus in the team. The booters took part in practice session at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Earlier, Ibrahim has tested negative for coronavirus twice.
Manager of the squad Iqbal Hossain said, Ibrahim was found corona positive after he underwent Covid-19 test. But he is now in a good shape. He has been in hotel quarantine under the supervision of physician.
Iqbal said Ibrahim took part in the practice in last couple of days. Sohel Rana was in touch with him. In the last test Sohel Rana became corona negative.

They are - Dhaka Abahani midfielders Sohel Rana and Saad Uddin, Mohammedan Sporting Club defender Habibur Rahman Sohag and Police Football Club forward Mohammad Jewel.
National football team manager Iqbal Hossain told the reporters that the players and officials will undergo the Covid-19 test after joining the camp.
Head coach Jamie Day and goalkeeping coach Les Cleevely will arrive on Monday night. Assistant coach Stuart Watkiss will come late as his Covid-19 result came unclear.
Bangladesh Football Federation General Secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag informed that the coaches will complete a five-day quarantine after arriving here as they took permission from the government.
Narayanganj violence: SC stays bail order for 3 Hefajat men

The Supreme Court today stayed for eight weeks the High Court orders that granted bail to three Hefajat-e-Islam activists in three separate vandalism and arson cases.
The cases were filed with Narayanganj s Siddhirganj Police Station against three Hefajat men Faruk Hossain, Md Iqbal Hossain and Moazzem Hossain and several others for vandalising and torching vehicles during March 28 hartal enforced by Hefajat.
Today, Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division of the SC, Justice Obaidul Hassan, passed the stay orders after hearing three petitions filed by the state, challenging the HC orders.
