NH Business Review won nine awards in the New England Newspaper & Press Association’s 2020 Better Newspaper Competition.
Bob Sanders won four awards. He took first-place honors for Business & Economic Reporting for his article on how property taxes are often the biggest tax burden facing New Hampshire businesses and for Health Reporting for his article on the limitations of importing prescription drugs from Canada.
His article on battery storage of electricity won third place in for Science/Technology Reporting and his article on how New Hampshire businesses are dealing with climate change won second place for Weather Reporting.
Greenfield Recorder wins 11 awards in annual Better Newspaper Competition

The Greenfield Recorder has won 11 top awards in the 2020 New England Better Newspaper Competition, an annual conference hosted Thursday and Friday by the region’s professional trade organization for newspapers in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Rhode Island.

LEWISTON The Sun Journal picked up four journalism awards during the annual New England Newspaper & Press Association spring conference.
Designer Jason Rathbun won first place in the illustration category for his detailed diagram of Lewiston’s aerial truck, pointing out to readers what kind of equipment was on the truck and what it was used for. The illustration also included details like cost, weight, engine size and life expectancy of Engine 3, a Pierce Ascendent purchased for close to $1 million. The engine is equipped with a 107-foot steel ladder capable of reaching every roof in Lewiston
Gazette wins three top awards at annual competition
This photo from July 2020, taken by Carol Lollis, Gazette photo editor, won a first-place award in the Feature Photo category of the New England Newspaper & Press Association’s annual Better Newspaper Contest. In this photo, Beatriz Rivera swims with her son, Nathaniel Gomez, at the Leeds dam. The Day has been recognized for its outstanding coverage of the coronavirus pandemic by the New England Newspaper & Press Association.
The media group handed out its annual awards at a virtual conference held Thursday and Friday. The Day received 30 awards, 12 of them for first place.
The Day, competing in the largest circulation category, tied for first place in Best Coverage of Coronavirus with the Waterbury Republican-American. The New Hampshire Union Leader was second and The Hartford Courant placed third.
Peter Huoppi won three first-place awards in the video categories feature, entertainment and news as well as a second place in sports and a third in feature.
