Rom com with an epic theme
Natasia Demetriou has joined the cast of the next film from Prevenge director Alice Lowe.
Timestalker is an epic story a woman’s unrequited love spanning centuries, from 1680s Western Scotland through 1790s rural England, 1980s Manhattan and the apocalyptic future.
Lowe – whose acting credits include Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place and the comedy-thriller Sightseers – will also be starring.
In each time period. her character falls for the wrong guy, dies a grim death then gets reincarnated a century to start the cycle anew.
Lowe said: ‘It’s so exciting to be working on a grander scale on Timestalker – but with the same crafting of script and comedy improv and brilliant actors.
Drilly T releases Drillogram
A spoof drill track that first appeared on the sketch show Famalam is being released as an actual single.
Drillogram first appeared in series three of the BBC Three comedy, when a group of rappers showed up at an office to surprise one of the workers with a modern version of the singing telegram, as ordered by her boyfriend.
The clip has attracted millions of views online, and today its main character, Drilly T, as played by Tom Moutchi, releases the full-length version of the track Drillogram (Who’s the Birthday Girl?
Capital Xtra host Remel London, who plays the birthday girl in the video for the new track, said: ‘When the Drillogram sketch went viral, I decided it was gonna be my official birthday anthem. So of course, I’m so happy to be part of this shoot! Shout out to AK and the Famalam crew.’
Honorary position for Fleabag creator
Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been appointed the first president of the Edinburgh Fringe.
The honorary position means the Fleabag creator will act as a cheerleader for the Festival Fringe Society, the charity that co-ordinates the annual event, attending certain events and speaking on behalf of the society.
Waller-Bridge performed Fleabag as a one-woman play at Underbelly during the 2013 Fringe, triggering all her subsequent success.
She said: ‘The Edinburgh Fringe has staged an annual cultural revolution for decades. It’s where thousands of writers, comedians, performers and artists cut their teeth and put their most raw work out into the world.
