Motorists were warned of possible delays as diversions were put in place, after the B1437 London Road was closed in both directions from the A12 to Field Lane at Kessingland near Lowestoft on Saturday afternoon (January 30). The road was closed about 12.20pm on Saturday, with investigations and recovery of the vehicles carried out at the scene after police, the East of England Ambulance Service and firefighters were called following a road traffic collision in Kessingland at 11.59am.

Topics included identifying palliative care emergencies and appropriate treatments, advance care planning, identifying when someone is dying and the use of anticipatory medications. The session was delivered by Dr Sue Griffith, Head of Education and Research at Farleigh Hospice; Daimon Wheddon, End of Life Care Lead for the EEAST; Dr Eva Lew, Farleigh Hospice Medical Director, and Dr Abi Ponnampalampillai, Farleigh Consultant.

Police, the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) and an air ambulance rapid response vehicle responded after the man was injured in the crash near Caister-on-Sea, in Great Yarmouth about 8.30am on January 28. An air ambulance spokesman said: The critical care team from Anglia One was tasked near to Caister-on-Sea by rapid response vehicle to assist EEAST and Police with a man in his 50s who was involved in a road traffic collision.

This initiative will also help with an ever-increasing demand being placed on the region’s ambulance Trust and the wider healthcare system.”

Emergency services were called to Kirkley Run, in Lowestoft, at 6.50am on Friday morning, January 29, following reports a member of a refuse collection team had been injured. The man was taken to the James Paget University Hospital with a suspected broken hip. A spokesperson for Waveney Norse said: We can confirm that an incident involving one of our Waveney Norse refuse operatives took place in Lowestoft this morning.
