Trust pays tribute to committed, kind and valued charge nurse

Princess Alexandra Hospital in Essex An acute trust in Essex has confirmed the death of a senior charge nurse who had recently been treated for Covid-19. The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) released a statement on Monday revealing the death of Barclay Mason, a long-standing member of its nursing staff. “Our thoughts are with Mason’s family, friends and colleagues at this sad time” Lance McCarthy Trust chief executive Lance McCarthy said: “It is with great sadness that I confirm the death of Barclay Mason, 56, a member of our emergency department team.” Mr McCarthy said he would be “remembered for his commitment to patient care, his kindness and as a valued friend and colleague to many at the Princess Alexandra Hospital”.
