A MAN has died after being taken ill in what police are treating as a currently “unexplained” death. Essex Police officers and paramedics were called to an address in Penfold Road, Clacton, at 4.30pm on April 14. The emergency services had received reports a man had been taken ill and was in need of urgent medical attention. Despite the best efforts of paramedics the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A spokeswoman for Essex Police said: “His death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.” One resident, who lives nearby but has asked to be kept anonymous, first noticed the emergency response at roughly 7pm.
Woman rescued from top of car park amid concerns for her welfare A WOMAN was brought to safety from the top of a car park after concerns were raised for her welfare. Essex Police were called to St John s multi-storey car park, in Southway, Colchester, at around 9.35pm yesterday. One witness, who works as a taxi driver, reported seeing around seven police cars outside the car park until around 2am. Southway was closed both ways from around 10pm or 11pm until very late, at least 2am, he said. An Essex Police spokesman said: We were called to concerns for the welfare of a woman on the top of a car park.

An air ambulance was sent to Bushey in Hertfordshire this afternoon following a bad accident understood to have happened on a nearby road.
Police and ambulance crews were called to Parsonage Street in Halstead at about 3.20pm on Monday. Children had just spent their first day back at school when reports of an accident involving a car and the 12-year-old boy near the Richard De Clare school were reported. Paramedics arrived and treated the youngster at the scene before taking him to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford for further care. An East of England Ambulance Service Trust spokesman said: “We sent an ambulance and rapid response vehicle to Parsonage Street on Monday after receiving reports of a collision. “Crews treated a boy at the scene before transporting him to Broomfield Hospital for further assessment and care.”
