Paramedic apprenticeship launches in Oxfordshire

South Central Ambulance Service inducted its first cohort in October and will take on a second group today. The service is launching the official BSc (Hons) Paramedic (Apprenticeship) degree with six other ambulance services. The degree was devised by the University of Cumbria and will take two years to complete, compared to three for a traditional degree in paramedic science The new apprenticeship programme will teach around 1,000 paramedics in the first two years, significantly increasing the national paramedic workforce , they have said.

Air ambulance called to Leavesden after reports of medical emergency

An air ambulance landed on the outskirts of Watford after receiving an emergency call. Crews treated a male patient at the scene before transporting him to hospital by land for further assessment and care. There are no reports of the incident being linked to the school.
