Ten new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Thunder Bay District, along with the death of another long-term care resident.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit announced the latest positive tests on Tuesday, which brings the active case count to 84. All of the new cases are located in Thunder Bay and the surrounding area. Three are at Southbridge Roseview, six are close contacts of existing cases and public health officials have yet to make a determination on the other case.
Three Thunder Bay flights had confirmed COVID-19 cases
Air Canada Jazz flights on Dec. 21 and Dec. 22, and an Air Canada flight on Dec. 20 had confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to the federal government.

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit says it is aware of elevated COVID-19 risks associated with three pre-Christmas flights landing in the city.
In a release issued Tuesday afternoon, the TBDHU said the overall risk of someone being infected would be low, but they are advising individuals to monitor themselves carefully for symptoms, immediately self-isolate and to contact the health unit.

THUNDER BAY The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting 10 new COVID-19 cases, all of them in the City of Thunder Bay or immediate surrounding area.
Three of the cases are connected to the ongoing outbreak at Southbridge Roseview long-term care home on Shuniah Street.
Earlier today, Southbridge Roseview reported the death of a 16th resident of the facility, the 18th death related to COVID-19 in the District of Thunder Bay to date.
The TBDHU reports that 10 previously-diagnosed cases within its coverage area have been resolved since Monday.
