Weekly vaccination rates at a glance in Thunder Bay and Northwest regions
Earlier this week, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) reported that 50 percent of its catchment area population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while the Northwestern health Unit is reporting the same for 57 percent of its population.

Earlier this week, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) reported that 50 percent of its catchment area population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while the Northwestern health Unit (NWHU) is reporting the same for 57 percent of its population.
Individuals over the age of 80 will start receiving a second dose on May 31 while Premier Doug Ford said based on supply, all Ontarians can be fully immunized by the end of August.
Both Dr. Janet DeMille of the Thunder Bay District Health (TBDHU) and Dr. Kit Young Hoon of the Northwestern Health Unit (NWHU) voiced their professional opinions on the matter this week, as provincial officials mull the decision.
