It brings the number of fatalities since the pandemic began to 59.
The TBDHU also reported eight new COVID-19 cases, including six in the Thunder Bay area and two in First Nations communities.
The figure represents two days of data, as the TBDHU does not issue a report on Sundays.
Since 14 previously reported cases were resolved, the number of active cases continued a recent decline, falling to 49, the lowest since Jan. 8 when the figure was also 49.
Among the new cases, two are household contact, two other close contact, and four have no known exposure source.
The TBDHU said there are three more patients hospitalized with COVID-19, bringing the current total to 12.
Provincial health officials are reporting 4,250 cases.
The province remains under the stay-at-home order that was put in place last week because of the recent surge in cases.
The region is seeing three new cases, all in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub area.
There will be no update from the Thunder Bay District Health Unit today, and Sunday’s cases will be included with Monday’s numbers.
