NDP backs Liberal climate bill: The federal New Democrats have agreed to support the Liberal government’s net-zero emissions bill and get it into Senate before the session concludes. The NDP had previously criticized the legislation as lacking short-term accountability between now and 2030, but has accepted proposed changes, including climate progress reports in 2023 and 2025 and an interim emissions objective for 2026.
