Photo / Michael Craig It s the ultimate case of une femme in Nouvelle-Zelande: Marine Barthomeuf is the only woman in a crew of 12 people in charge of the new tunnel boring machine drilling New Zealand s largest transport infrastructure project.
The Parisian-born engineer, 26, did today s honours at a gathering which included a Crown minister, city officials, Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei tangata and other guests to christen that machine, swinging the Champagne bottle at the machine s (TBM) launch.

Today marks a milestone for Tāmaki Makaurau with the launch of the tunnel boring machine at New Zealand s largest infrastructure project, the $4.4 billion City Rail Link.
The German-designed Chinese-built machine, named Dame Whina Cooper, is launched this morning at the project s Mt Eden site, with final checks about to be carried out before she starts cutting around the middle of this month. Completing Auckland s City Rail Link has taken an exciting step forward today with the official launch of the machine at the project s Mt Eden site, CRL announced today.

Another new eSIM company has entered the market following the launch of Extreme Connect.
The new mobile network which uses Truphone’s network is entirely eSIM-enabled launched yesterday (April 27) and will have access in 110 countries.
It will also take advantage of further fully localised areas in nine markets including the UK, USA, France, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Spain, Australia and Hong Kong.
