Meaford’s nearly $2.4 million reconstruction of Sykes Street North will likely begin in May closing a 250-metre stretch of the downtown’s main thoroughfare for three months.
The work will tear up Sykes Street North, between Collingwood and Lombard streets, and replace its underground pipes.

This past Monday, Meaford council approved Arnill Construction Limited’s $2,354,161 bid for the project and authorized a $52,600 transfer from the water reserve fund as well as a $15,400 transfer from the sewer reserve fund to cover additional costs.
