Child pornography nets Lethbridge man jail time Poll 5 – Excellent work A Lethbridge man caught with hundreds of photos of child pornography and nearly a dozen videos, has been sent to a federal penitentiary. Brandon Gerardo Bran Eguizabal, 27, who pleaded guilty in February to one count of possession of child pornography, was sentenced Wednesday in Lethbridge provincial court to two years in prison. Crown Prosecutor Michelle Tai told court Lethbridge police searched a northside home at which Eguizabal was living on June 4, 2020, and he admitted possessing and receiving child pornography from other online users through chats and text messaging. Police seized eight electronic devices and found child pornography on three of them.

(Facebook) A well-known Happy Valley-Goose Bay man convicted of possessing child pornography will have to wait for a judge s decision later this month to find out how long his jail sentence will be.  Valance Job Oliver pleaded guilty to a single count of possessing child pornography, which carries mandatory jail time.  In provincial court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Tuesday, Judge Rolf Pritchard said there was a lot to digest after hearing from both Crown attorney Brandon Gillespie and Oliver s defence counsel, Jonathan Regan. 

Northern Alta man accused of arranging to sexually assault 13-year-old girl in Edmonton: ALERT

  EDMONTON A 48-year-old Fort McMurray, Alta., man is facing several charges after allegedly attempting to meet a 13-year-old girl and sexually assault her, according to police. Pulenthirakumer Arulamapalan was arrested by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit in west Edmonton on March 12. Police say Arulamapalan travelled to Edmonton from Fort McMurray to sexually assault the 13-year-old girl. ICE believes our intervention and arrest prevented a sexual assault,” S/Sgt. Mike Zaparyniuk said in a news release.  “This is another all-too real reminder for parents to take a proactive role in understanding who your children are engaging and talking with online.”
