Twitter Concerned About Indian Police s Intimidation Tactics Over Flagged Tweets

Twitter said it is concerned about Indian police s intimidation tactics on Thursday, days after police showed up to the company s New Delhi office Monday over tweets flagged as manipulated media.
Indian police arrived at Twitter s office with a notice demanding the company answer why tweets from leaders of Prime Minister Narendra Modi s party were labeled as manipulated, the Associated Press reported. Party leaders tweeted portions of a document they asserted was from the main opposition Congress party to make the government look bad in handling the COVID-19 crisis and some Congress members complained to Twitter, calling the document forged.

The European Union has chronically failed to produce any notable tech unicorns billion dollar startups. Its recent move to regulate (I would say criminalize) AI technology, if implemented, will setback the EU to the dark ages, and hand the future of tech to China. Instead of supporting these moves as it has, the Biden administration must embrace and support a future of growth and advancement a future that promotes use of AI, for the sake of the economy, society and above all, national security.

TikTok Users Hate the New Text-to-Speech Voice

TikTok has replaced the voice behind the popular text-to-speech generator feature, weeks after the original voice actor filed a lawsuit against the company.
The app introduced the text-to-speech feature in late 2020, and the feature proved a success, often adding comic relief to videos.
On Monday, May 24, users of the North American version of the app noticed a big change in the female text-to-speech voice a whole new voice was being used. For users in other regions, with different voice actors, their text-to-speech has seemingly stayed the same.
At the start of May, the voice actor behind the original North American text-to-speech generator, Bev Standing, opened a lawsuit against TikTok. Standing alleged the app did not have her permission to use her voice for the feature.

The TikTok account @deeptomcruise, dedicated to creating deepfake videos of Tom Cruise, is back with a brand new fake clip of the Hollywood actor indulging in a spot of cleaning.
The clip shows the deepfake of Cruise cleaning up in some sort of industrial facility. Hey what s up TikTok? the deepfake of the actor says before adding: Look, I do a lot of my stunts, but I also do a lot of industrial clean up. It s important. So, obviously, you keep your hands clean but you really need that exfoliating product to cut through the grind.
