INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) A 39-year-old Indianapolis man was charged Monday with the murder of a woman who was dropped off with gunshot wounds Wednesday night at Riley Hospital for Children, where she later died.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said it was notified minutes before 6:55 p.m. Wednesday of a “walk-in person shot” at the hospital at 705 Riley Hospital Drive. Joan “Jody” Berry, 41, was initially listed as being in critical condition but died minutes after arriving at the hospital.
Gary L. Jackson, 39, was formally charged with murder in Marion Superior Court 28. A jury trial was set for June 28.

Former Fedex Employee Brendon Scott Hole, 19 who shot the Fedex victims was interviews by the FBi last year when his mother called police. FBI spokesman stated: SAC Keenan: “Many of you have already asked what the motive of this shooting was, and with less than 12 hours since the shooting, it would be premature to speculate on the suspect’s motivations.”
One of the young victims, Samaria Blackwell had an enormous impact on the local police and community. She had wanted to be a police officer.
The Avon Police began a campaign in her honor and today followed her to her final resting place.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is in serious condition following a crash on the city’s west side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Just before 10 a.m. officers were called to the area of 38th Street and Moller Road for an accident with injury.
Officers said a vehicle headed west on East 38th Street went through an intersection, struck a vehicle attempting turn which then pushed those two vehicles into a box truck going east on 38th Street.
One of the men involved in the crash was unconscious as he was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
